Vandal-resistant casing
The AXIS 216FD-V Fixed Dome Network Camera is ideal for demanding indoor surveillance of stores, schools, prisons and banks. The metal base and durable transparent cover provide excellent protection against vandalism.
High-performance camera
Thanks to its high-quality progressive scan sensor and advanced image processing, the camera delivers crisp and clear images - even in low-light conditions. The built-in two-way audio capabilities including audio detection alarm allow for real-time communication with visitors or intruders.
Easy installation
The AXIS 216FD-V is quick and easy to install. It allows flexible mounting on wall, hard or drop ceiling and versatile adjustment by panning, tilting and rotating the varifocal lens to any camera angle. Smoked transparent covers are options for further discretion.
Power over Ethernet
Support for Power over Ethernet allows the camera to receive both data and power over a single Ethernet cable - which makes the installation easier and cheaper. If connected to a central Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), the camera can continue to operate even when there is a power failure.

The versatile lens suspension allows for wide adjustments by panning, tilting and rotating the varifocal lens to any camera angle desired.
The two-way audio support, including the option of using a built-in microphone enables remote users not only to view, but also to listen in on an area and communicate orders or requests to visitors or intruders. The audio alarm detection enables the AXIS 216FD-V to give an alarm at a configurable audio detection level.
System overview
The schematics shows a typical installation using the AXIS 216FD-V.
Loudspeaker and microphone: Give instructions, orders or provide help by connecting a loudspeaker to the camera. Record sound, listen to what is happening, activate an audio alarm.
Relay: Use a relay to send alarms via the camera or turn on the lights on alarms.
PCs: Monitor, record and play back video from a PC with video management software. Monitor the camera via a standard PC on the network – LAN, WAN or the Internet.
UPS: Optionally secure power to the cameras and recording system by using Power over Ethernet and an Uninterruptible Power Supply.
